Softball Recap: Pathfinder RVT Makes It Ten in a Row at Home

Pathfinder RVT had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 13-5 margin over Hampden Charter School of Science. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-3 back in April.

Bella Nompleggi was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Sam Prouty was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Pathfinder RVT always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .512 or higher in four consecutive games.

Pathfinder RVT pushed their record up to 10-3 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Hampden Charter School of Science, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pathfinder RVT will face off against Lenox Memorial at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Millionaires will roll in looking for their 18th straight victory, something the Pioneers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hampden Charter School of Science, they are taking a road trip to square off against Commerce at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Red Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.21 runs per game on average), something Hampden Charter School of Science will no doubt try to take advantage of.
