Football Recap: St. Joseph's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Two

Palacios came into Friday's matchup looking for another win against St. Joseph, but Charlie Stefka wouldn't allow it. The Flyers enjoyed a cozy 35-21 victory over the Sharks on Friday thanks in part to Stefka, who picked up 161 receiving yards and three scores. He really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 83 yards.

Alex Weaver and Trey Weixelman certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Weaver rushed for 133 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Weixelman rushed for 68 yards and one TD on only five carries. Weixelman also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making four total tackles and defending one pass.

St. Joseph has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 48.5 points this season. As for Palacios, their record is now 0-2.

Coming up, St. Joseph will square off against Mathis at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Palacios, they will challenge Danbury at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
