Basketball Game Preview: Huntington North Vikings vs. Fort Wayne South Side Archers

The Huntington North Vikings and the Fort Wayne South Side Archers will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. Fort Wayne South Side took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Huntington North, who comes in off a win.

On Friday, Huntington North beat Norwell 60-52.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Huntington North to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ethan Zahn, who went 9-for-14 en route to 26 points and six assists. The matchup was Zahn's third in a row with at least 15 points. Dalton Husband was another key player, putting up 11 points and eight boards.

Meanwhile, Fort Wayne South Side played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt an 87-52 defeat at the hands of Fort Wayne Wayne. The Archers haven't had much luck with the Generals recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Fort Wayne South Side's loss dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Huntington North, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.

Huntington North beat Fort Wayne South Side 48-41 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Does Huntington North have another victory up their sleeve, or will Fort Wayne South Side turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
