Baseball Recap: Orono Triumphs

While Orono's win against Dexter wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Riots sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Tigers on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Riots have posted since June 4, 2024.

Noah Schaff was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Orono: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Francis, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases.

Orono now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Dexter, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orono will head out to square off against Mount View at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Dexter, they will venture away from home to challenge Stearns at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Minutemen will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
