Softball Recap: Mapletown Takes a Loss

Mapletown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 10-0 to the West Greene Pioneers. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Maples were not able to get on the board.

Mapletown saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marley Shiflett, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Mapletown's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for West Greene, the win keeps they at an undefeated 7-0.

Mapletown wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 9-2 defeat against Jefferson-Morgan on the 11th. As for West Greene, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-1 loss against Carmichaels on the 11th.
