Sardis is 9-1 against Boaz since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Lions will welcome the Pirates at 4:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Sardis comes in on eight and Boaz on four.

If Sardis beats Boaz with three runs on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Lions beat Arab on Monday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 3-2.

Boaz hadn't beaten Fort Payne on the road since February 23, 2018 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Pirates sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over the Wildcats.

Bailey Lusk made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Lusk was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Grier Maples was incredible, scoring two runs while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Allie Simpson, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Boaz always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fort Payne only posted an OBP of .371.

Sardis pushed their record up to 23-10 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Boaz, their victory bumped their record up to 20-7-1.

Sardis was able to grind out a solid win over Boaz in their previous meeting last Tuesday, winning 5-2. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
