Softball Recap: River Comes Up Short

Bridgeport hit River with a seven-run fourth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Pilots lost 11-1 to the Bulldogs. The Pilots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

River saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Wohnhas, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for River and nudges their season record down to 4-9. As for Bridgeport, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-3.

River wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 11-1 win against Fort Frye on the 18th. As for Bridgeport, they have also already played their next matchup, a 9-8 loss against Toronto on the 22nd.
