The Keyser Golden Tornado will challenge the Robert C. Byrd Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Keyser is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

Last Wednesday, Keyser didn't have quite enough to beat Frankfort and fell 6-5. The Golden Tornado have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Sawyer Rodeheaver was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Hunter Harr was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI.

The home team had come away the winner the last six times Robert C. Byrd and Elkins had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Eagles never let the Tigers get on the board and left with a 9-0 win on Wednesday. While the Eagles didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Robert C. Byrd let Ashton Shaffer and Xavier Carvelli run wild. Shaffer got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Carvelli scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. That home run marked the first that Shaffer launched this season. Cooper Floyd was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Robert C. Byrd's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Keyser, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-6.
