Soccer Game Preview: Mayfield vs. Galway

The Mayfield Panthers will square off against the Galway Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

On Saturday, Mayfield needed a bit of extra time to put away Mekeel Christian Academy. They never let the Lions get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. The victory continues a trend for Mayfield in their matchups with Mekeel Christian Academy: they've now won eight in a row.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Galway faced off against Northville on Friday. The Golden Eagles lost 4-1 to the Falcons. While losing is never fun, Galway can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York soccer rankings (they are ranked 370th, while Northville are ranked 78th).

Galway's goal came courtesy of Jameson Wagner, who's now up to eight this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Galway and nudges their season record down to 3-9-1. As for Mayfield, they now have a winning record of 5-4-2.
