Softball Game Preview: Hoover Cardinals vs. Monte Vista Monarchs

Hoover is 0-8 against Monte Vista since April of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Hoover Cardinals will face off against the Monte Vista Monarchs at 3:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Hoover is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They lost 25-5 to Montgomery.

Heather Perez was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Lilly Robles was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Monte Vista was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Southwest SD, falling 17-3.

Hoover's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Monte Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
