Baseball Recap: Milburn Comes Up Short

If Milburn was feeling good fresh off their 15-7 takedown of Haileyville on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles came up short against the Sasakwa Vikings on Tuesday, falling 16-8. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-3 two weeks ago.

Alex Wingo was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Milburn: the team is 5-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Bryor Smith, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one run.

Milburn's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Sasakwa, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 18-9.

Sasakwa has already played their next contest (against Wayne), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Milburn will be paying especially close attention to the Vikings' matchup: after the Vikings face off against the Bulldogs, they'll take on Milburn again at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
