Basketball Game Preview: Warsaw Wildcats vs. Wheatland Mules

Warsaw hasn't had much luck against Wheatland recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Warsaw Wildcats will take on the Wheatland Mules in a tournament on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Warsaw will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Climax Springs, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Warsaw blew past Climax Springs, posting a 60-24 victory.

Meanwhile, Wheatland got the win against Lakeland on Tuesday by a conclusive 58-32. Given the Mules' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while the Vikings are ranked 504th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win made it two in a row for Wheatland and bumps their season record up to 12-2. As for Warsaw, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.

Things could have been worse for Warsaw, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 54-38 loss to Wheatland when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Warsaw avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
