Basketball Recap: Chiefland Skates Past P.K. Yonge with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chiefland). They blew past the P.K. Yonge Blue Wave, posting a 75-47 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Indians, who have now won six games in a row.

Chiefland was led to victory by Nyasia Bivins and Laila Ingram. Bivins dropped a triple-double with 20 points, 13 rebounds, and 16 steals, while Ingram posted 22 points and six steals. Bivins' big performance that evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. Brianna Bell was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Chiefland's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for P.K. Yonge, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chiefland will face off against Crystal River at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians will be up against the Pirates' rather soft defense (which has allowed 51.38 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for P.K. Yonge, they will take on Eastside at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
