Recap: Memorial Tigers vs. River Dell Golden Hawks
The Memorial Tigers came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against River Dell by a score of 52-42. Given Memorial's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while River Dell is ranked 263rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Golden Hawks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aditya Pandya, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for him. Sean Golden was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Memorial pushed their record up to 4-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for River Dell, they have fallen quite a ways from their 21-7 record last season and are now at 1-3.
Memorial will head out on the road to face off against Orange at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Orange is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
