Soccer Game Preview: California vs. Dublin

The California Grizzlies will square off against the Dublin Gaels at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Dublin is facing California at the wrong time: California suffered their first home loss of the season on Saturday and they're likely out for redemption. They fell just short of the Dons by a score of 2-1. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Grizzlies came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 128th, while the Dons are ranked 287th).

Meanwhile, Dublin kept a clean sheet against Tennyson on Monday. They had just enough and edged the Lancers out 1-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Gaels were the better team in the second half.

The victory got Dublin back to even at 2-2-4. As for California, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-2-2.
