Softball Recap: Waldron Continues Road Dominance on Monday

Waldron lost to Cossatot River back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Bulldogs walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Eagles. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Avery Self spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up 14 Ks.

At the plate, Waldron let Payton Mahar and Chloe Richmond run wild. Mahar scored a run while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances, while Richmond scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Karis Pritchard also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Waldron's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-9. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Cossatot River, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Waldron has already played their next matchup, a 10-0 loss against Pottsville on the 8th. As for Cossatot River, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 13-2 defeat against Charleston on the 8th.
