Volleyball Recap: Xavier Takes a Loss

After flying high against Green Bay East on Tuesday, Xavier came back down to earth. The Hawks fell just short of the Manitowoc Lincoln Ships by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Ships apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Xavier lost, don't look at Bella Velasquez. Despite the final result, she had eight digs and three aces. Velasquez is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Xavier's loss dropped their record down to 23-9. As for Manitowoc Lincoln, they now have a winning record of 19-18.

Xavier didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Arrowhead on the 11th. As for Manitowoc Lincoln, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Bay Port on the 11th.
