Piedmont Academy has gone a perfect 3-0 against Gatewood recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Gators at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Piedmont Academy is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since August 21st on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to Jones County. Considering the last time the Cougars couldn't score was back in August, the team can't take the result too hard.

While Piedmont Academy was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-19, 25-15.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Gatewood's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of Putnam County by a score of 3-2.

Gatewood actually scored more points across those five sets (103-102), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-23, 23-25, 14-25, 15-13.

Gatewood's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Piedmont Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.

Piedmont Academy took their victory against Gatewood when the teams last played back in August by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
