Basketball Recap: College Park Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

College Park came tearing into Saturday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Tomball Memorial Wildcats by a score of 37-30. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Cavaliers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 428th, while the Wildcats are ranked 103rd).

College Park's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sachi Lee led the charge by putting up eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gretchen Wright, who posted six points and five rebounds.

College Park is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 13-8 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 32.6% in those games and 26.2% outside of them. As for Tomball Memorial, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 18-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. College Park will welcome Cleveland at 12:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025. As for Tomball Memorial, they will host Klein at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Klein will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Tomball Memorial surely won't give up without a fight.
