Softball Recap: Richford Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Richford dropped their record down to 4-3 on Thursday, which also ended the team's eight-game streak of wins on the road dating back to last season. They came up short against the Rice Memorial Green Knights, falling 29-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Falcons have suffered since May 2, 2024.

MiKayla Chagnon made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run. Chagnon is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

As for Rice Memorial, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 15.6 runs thus far.

On Rice Memorial's side, Alayna Havreluk was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Havreluk was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with five runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lynsey Nagle, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Finley Strong was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
