After having lost a blowout in their previous game against South Lafourche, Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They blew past the Carver Collegiate Academy Rams 19-1. Considering the Tigers have won six games by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Preston Champagne was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-8 otherwise. Champagne was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Hunter Smith was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Aiden Nguyen also deserves some recognition as he hit his first doubles of the season.

Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carver Collegiate Academy struck out eight times.

Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Carver Collegiate Academy, they dropped their record down to 2-3 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
