Basketball Recap: Casey Lambert Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Riverdale

L.W. Higgins hadn't done well against Riverdale recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The L.W. Higgins Hurricanes came out on top against the Riverdale Rebels by a score of 48-40. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Hurricanes as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead L.W. Higgins to victory, but perhaps none more so than Casey Lambert, who posted 13 points. That's the most points Lambert has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Darius Burse, who scored ten points.

L.W. Higgins' win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-20. As for Riverdale, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season.

L.W. Higgins has already played their next matchup, a 45-37 victory against Livingston Collegiate Academy on the 3rd. Riverdale has also already played their next game (against John Ehret), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
