Baseball Game Preview: Blair Bears vs. Mount Michael Benedictine Knights

The Blair Bears will venture away from home to square off against the Mount Michael Benedictine Knights at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Blair fell victim to Gretna East and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Griffins, falling 7-0. The Bears haven't had much luck with the Griffins recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Mount Michael Benedictine ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past Seward 3-2. The win was some much needed relief for the Knights as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Mount Michael Benedictine got a great performance from Alex Poole as he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

At the plate, Mount Michael Benedictine saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dominic Beninato, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Those two stolen bases gave Beninato a new career-high. Jackson Teetor was another, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Mount Michael Benedictine's record now sits at 6-10. As for Blair, their loss dropped their record down to 5-15.

Blair couldn't quite finish off Mount Michael Benedictine in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can the Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
