Seguin waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They secured a 67-63 W over the Lanier Voks. This was a revenge game for the Matadors: when they faced off against the Voks back in December of 2024, they had to take a 58-54 loss.

Corey Dailey was his usual excellent self, going 13 of 15 en route to 31 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Juarez-Bruns, who posted ten points along with eight assists and four steals.

Despite the defeat, Lanier saw an underclassman step up: freshman Zach Martinez went 10 for 15 on his way to 31 points. Martinez has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Daniel Laque, who scored eight points.

Seguin's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-13. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points per game. As for Lanier, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season.

Seguin didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 46-34 loss against Jefferson on the 24th. As for Lanier, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 36-34 victory against Edison on the 24th.
