Basketball Recap: Wednesday's Defeat Ends Arrowhead Christian's Winning Streak

Arrowhead Christian was the 61-58 winner over Capistrano Valley Christian when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Arrowhead Christian Eagles received a blow on Wednesday as they fell 70-51 to the Capistrano Valley Christian Eagles. While losing is never fun, Arrowhead Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 461st, while Capistrano Valley Christian is ranked 186th).

Michael Ahern continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Capistrano Valley Christian, going 11 for 19 on his way to 32 points in addition to six boards and five assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Ahern has scored at least a third of Capistrano Valley Christian's points. Benjamin Makelela was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 19 rebounds.
