Softball Recap: Cuba/Spoon River Valley Takes a Loss

If Cuba/Spoon River Valley was feeling good fresh off their 16-1 takedown of Astoria/VIT on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats lost 10-3 to the Farmington Farmers on Thursday.

Kacie White spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and seven unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cuba/Spoon River Valley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abbie Johnson, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base.

Cuba/Spoon River Valley's loss dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Farmington, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season.

Cuba/Spoon River Valley will square off against Rushville-Industry at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Farmington, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 10-0 victory against Bushnell-Prairie City on the 9th.
