Basketball Game Preview: Locust Grove Wildcats vs. McDonough Warhawks

Locust Grove is 0-5 against McDonough since January of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Locust Grove Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the McDonough Warhawks at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Locust Grove is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 17th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They took a blow against Woodland, falling 63-24. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-13.

Meanwhile, McDonough was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Stockbridge, falling 65-43. While losing is never fun, the Warhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 289th, while the Tigers are ranked 51st).

Locust Grove will have to contain Jadah Rembert as she made an impact in McDonough's last game. She posted 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amira Carter, who had ten points.

Locust Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for McDonough, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.

Locust Grove was taken down by McDonough 81-49 in their previous meeting back in January of 2018. Can Locust Grove avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
