Volleyball Recap: Marshall Finds Playoff Glory Versus Mineral Point

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Marshall had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Mineral Point Pointers with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win was nothing new for the Cardinals as they're now sitting on four straight.

Marshall's got stronger as the match went on, holding Mineral Point to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-20, 25-13.

Summer Hellenbrand paced Marshall's offense, picking up 13 kills. Hellenbrand got some help from Ava Neuberger and her 30 assists. Brooke Setterlund controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Marshall's victory bumped their record up to 26-10. As for Mineral Point, their defeat ended a 22-match streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 36-5.

Marshall has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Luther on the 1st. Mineral Point does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
