Baseball Recap: Celebration Starts off Right with Win over Gateway

Celebration had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Gateway Panthers on Monday. That's more bragging rights for the Storm, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Austin Bizzack looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on David Sevilla, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Ciro Yanez, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Looking ahead, Celebration will face off against Davenport at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Gateway, they will take on Poinciana at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gateway is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak dating back to last season.
