Baseball Recap: Sam Rayburn's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Sam Rayburn extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 14-7-1 in the process. They came out on top against the Honey Grove Warriors by a score of 7-2. This was a revenge game for the Rebels: when they faced off against the Warriors on April 1st, they had to take a 4-2 loss.

Jamison Dorris made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Dorris was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Case Nichols was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and one run. Those two triples gave him a new career-high.

As for Honey Grove, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-5. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly five runs.

On Honey Grove's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jarrmez Daniels, who went 2-for-4 with one double. Another was Grant Cheney, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sam Rayburn will challenge Tom Bean at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rebels' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tomcats have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season. As for Honey Grove, they will take on Muenster at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
