South Paulding had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 57-56 photo finish over the Central Lions. The Spartans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

Central's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Khaven Cochran, who went 9 for 18 on his way to 19 points in addition to six boards and five steals. The matchup was Cochran's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Williams, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 boards.

South Paulding is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Central, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-2.

South Paulding wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 63-58 win against Temple on the 21st. As for Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 63-57 victory against Mt. Zion on the 21st.
