Rogers and Emmanuel Christian are an even 3-3 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Rams will head out on the road to square off against the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Rogers has given up an average of 14.6 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Rogers came up short against Waite on Wednesday, falling 22-8. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Da'Mya Boles made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Kaimonie Hughes also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Meanwhile, Emmanuel Christian suffered their biggest defeat since April 25, 2024 on Monday. They lost 10-3 to Evergreen. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Warriors' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.
Maggie Woodward spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and eight unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up 12 Ks. Those 12 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
At the plate, Paris Foster and Ariella Morris stepped up to the plate in a big way. Foster scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Morris went 3-for-4 with one triple, one double, and one RBI. Foster is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.
Emmanuel Christian's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2. As for Rogers, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Rogers hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like Emmanuel Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Rogers might still be hurting after the 14-2 defeat they got from Emmanuel Christian in their previous meeting on Friday. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
