Basketball Game Preview: Ridgeview Christian Crusaders vs. Westover Christian Academy Bulldogs

Two dominant guards in Abby Fox and Emily Evans are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Ridgeview Christian Crusaders will head out on the road to take on the Westover Christian Academy Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

Last Friday, Ridgeview Christian came up short against Grace Christian and fell 29-21. The Crusaders haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Meanwhile, Westover Christian Academy entered their tilt with Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy on Saturday with six consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with seven. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 59-55 W against the Ospreys.

Ridgeview Christian better keep an eye on Evans. She was instrumental in Westover Christian Academy's win, dropping a double-double with 30 points and 14 boards. Evans has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more rebounds the last 12 times she's played. Mollie Lackey was another key player, going 5-for-12 to rack up 12 points along with five boards and four steals.

Westover Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 15 consecutive matches.

Ridgeview Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Westover Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 17-6.
