Softball Recap: Allen Park Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Anthony Wayne

Allen Park is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Anthony Wayne. The Jaguars fell just short of the Generals by a score of 5-4. That's two games in a row now that the Jaguars have lost by just one run.

Alexa Hawrot was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Allen Park saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mak Sitarski, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Allen Park's loss dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Anthony Wayne, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-2.
