St. Paul is 9-1 against Slidell since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The St. Paul's Wolves will square off against the Slidell Tigers at 6:30 p.m. St. Paul's has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with seven straight losses, while Slidell will come in with eight straight wins.

St. Paul's fell victim to Brother Martin and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crusaders.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Slidell). They were the clear victor by a 20-2 margin over McDonogh 35 on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Tyler Rushing looked comfortable as he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero).

On the hitting side, Troy Green and Charles Burdett did most of the damage at the plate: Green went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Burdett scored two runs while going 1-for-1. The dominant performance also gave Burdett a new career-high in RBI (three). Brayden Calamari also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Slidell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .742. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Slidell's record now sits at 12-6. As for St. Paul's, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.

St. Paul's came out on top in a nail-biter against Slidell in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, sneaking past 5-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Paul's since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
