Basketball Recap: Attica Comes Up Short

Attica managed to keep up with Riverton Parke until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Attica Red Ramblers lost 47-26 to the Riverton Parke Panthers. The Red Ramblers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Riverton Parke's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Corinne Loomis led the charge by dropping a double-double on 11 points and 14 boards. Loomis is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Haylee Mathas, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 14 points and four steals.

Attica dropped their record down to 7-13 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Riverton Parke, their victory bumped their record up to 10-7.

Attica has already played their next matchup (against Milford), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Riverton Parke wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 61-34 defeat against North Central on the 24th.
