Football Game Preview: North Mecklenburg Vikings vs. West Charlotte Lions

The North Mecklenburg Vikings will head out to challenge the West Charlotte Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Mecklenburg has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with four straight losses, while West Charlotte will come in with six straight victories.

North Mecklenburg's offense might be in the hot seat on Thursday considering what happened against Independence on Friday. They had to suffer through a 41-0 loss at the hands of the Patriots. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 131st, while the Patriots are ranked tenth).

Meanwhile, West Charlotte hadn't done well against Chambers recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Lions took their game with ease, bagging a 37-0 win over the Cougars. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by 21 points or more this season.

North Mecklenburg's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for West Charlotte, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

North Mecklenburg took a serious blow against West Charlotte when the teams last played back in November of 2024, falling 51-0. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
