Basketball Recap: Broadway Takes a Loss

Broadway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Staunton Storm, falling 56-36. While losing is never fun, the Gobblers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 330th, while the Storm are ranked 83rd).

Broadway's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Staunton, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Broadway won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against East Rockingham at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Staunton, they will also get right back to it: they'll take on Wilson Memorial at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wilson Memorial will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Staunton surely won't give up without a fight.
