Volleyball Preview: Streaking Galena Faces Slumping River Ridge

The Galena Pirates will face off against the River Ridge Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Galena has 16 straight victories, River Ridge has 15 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Thursday, Galena earned a 2-0 win over River Ridge.

Galena easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final set scores came out to 25-9, 25-19.

Galena's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emma Ehrler, who had 18 assists, seven digs, and two aces. The team also got some help from Zoe Blaum, who had 15 digs and two assists.
