Basketball Game Preview: Triangle Math & Science Tigers vs. Chatham Charter Knights

Triangle Math & Science hasn't had much luck against Chatham Charter recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Triangle Math & Science Tigers just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Chatham Charter Knights at 6:00 p.m. Triangle Math & Science will be strutting in after a victory while Chatham Charter will be coming in after a loss.

Chatham Charter is hoping to do what River Mill couldn't on Monday: put an end to Triangle Math & Science's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Triangle Math & Science blew past River Mill 39-17.

Triangle Math & Science's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aarushi Sojitra, who posted 12 points. Sojitra continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Noor Rana, who had nine points.

Meanwhile, Chatham Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 61-20 loss at the hands of Southwestern Randolph. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 464th, while the Cougars are ranked 56th).

Triangle Math & Science is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.4 points per game. As for Chatham Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 4-12.

Triangle Math & Science might still be hurting after the 61-41 defeat they got from Chatham Charter in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Triangle Math & Science avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
