Baseball Game Preview: Waynesburg Central Raiders vs. Seton LaSalle Rebels

For the second straight game, Waynesburg Central will face off against Seton LaSalle. The Raiders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rebels at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Waynesburg Central is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

On Monday, Waynesburg Central got the win against Seton LaSalle by a conclusive 10-2. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.

Alex VanSickle was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Stephenson, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

VanSickle wasn't the only one making solid contact: Waynesburg Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 13 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Waynesburg Central pushed their record up to 9-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Seton LaSalle, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Seton LaSalle's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Waynesburg Central hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .392.
