Soccer Recap: Barrington Extends Home Winning Streak to Seven

Barrington won the last time they faced Schaumburg and things went their way on Friday too. The Fillies/Broncos' defense stepped up to hand the Saxons a 5-0 shutout. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Barrington's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 11th, while Schaumburg are ranked 103rd).

Barrington pushed their record up to 13-1-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those seven games. As for Schaumburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6-2.

Coming up, Barrington will face off against Hersey at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hersey will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Barrington surely won't give up without a fight.
