While Nutley's win against Verona wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Maroon Raiders had just enough and edged out the Hillbillies 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Maroon Raiders have posted since May 8, 2024.

Kennan Bilotta looked comfortable as he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (two).

On the hitting side, Eugenio Roman was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted over his last five matchups. Benjamin McNeil was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Nutley is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-12 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Verona, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-5.

Looking ahead, Nutley will challenge Montclair at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Verona does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
