Basketball Game Preview: Jefferson County Tigers vs. Port Gibson Blue Waves

The Jefferson County Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the Port Gibson Blue Waves at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Jefferson County is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 62-61 to Wesson.

Meanwhile, Port Gibson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 36-19 bruising from Richland. That's two games in a row now that the Blue Waves have lost by exactly 17 points.

Jefferson County's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Port Gibson, their loss dropped their record down to 4-18.

Jefferson County was able to grind out a solid victory over Port Gibson in their previous meeting on January 3rd, winning 37-30. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jefferson County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
