Sacramento Adventist gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Pine Hills Adventist Eagles. For the Capitals, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 win the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.
Sacramento Adventist was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-17, 20-25, 25-20, 15-11.
Jake Stewart paced Sacramento Adventist's offense, picking up 11 kills. Stewart got some help from Sawyer Kim and his 22 assists. Kim was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.
Pine Hills Adventist's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
