            Softball Recap: Charlevoix Rayders vs. Grayling Vikings        
        
		
        
        
            Charlevoix extended their losing streak  to three  on Monday, dropping their season record down to 4-8 in the process. They lost  9-2 to the Grayling Vikings. If the Rayders were looking for revenge after losing  14-4 to the Vikings when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
  Gemma Bonney was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 1-for-2 with two  stolen bases and one  run.
As for Grayling, their victory bumped their record up to 14-5-1. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won ten matchups by six  runs or more  so far this season.
On Grayling's side,  Jessica Campbell made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out eight batters over  six innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   three  hits. Campbell has been consistent for a while: she hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with one  home run and five  RBI. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in April.
 In other batting news,  Cali D'Amour was  incredible,  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances with three  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  double. That's the most  runs  she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of  Kendra Allen, who  went 2-for-3 with one  run and one  RBI.
 Coming up, Charlevoix will take on Cheboygan at 4:15  p.m.  on Thursday. The Rayders are facing the Chiefs at the right time seeing as the Chiefs are stuck on  a  three-game losing streak. As for Grayling, they will welcome Elk Rapids  at 4:15  p.m.  on Thursday. The Elks will roll in looking for their  17th straight  win, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight.
