Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Indian River). They breezed by the South Jefferson Spartans to the tune of 62-30 on Monday. The Wolves pushed the score to 48-18 by the end of the third, a deficit the Spartans had little chance of recovering from.
Indian River's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Allison LaMora led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. LaMora is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last five games she's played dating back to last season. Keera LaLonde was another key player, going 6 for 10 on her way to 15 points and three steals.
The victory made it two in a row for Indian River and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Indian River will welcome Lowville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Jefferson, they will head out to square off against Watertown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
