The Oldham County Colonels will head out to face off against the Mercy Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Oldham County is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games.
Oldham County proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 15) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out South Oldham 11-9.

Jozie Lashley made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aubrey Batts, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. She also snagged a stolen base, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Natalie Cheatham, who scored two runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mercy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past North Oldham 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Jaguars have posted since March 25th.
Lyla Ballou looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Ava Reinhart was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Haley Rupe, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Mercy's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Oldham County, their record is now 15-1.
