Soccer Game Preview: Southside vs. Jay

Southside hasn't had much luck against Jay recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Southside Cardinals will venture away from home to challenge the Jay Mustangs at 7:00 p.m.

Southside fell victim to Southwest and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 5-0 to the Dragons. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 531st, while the Dragons are ranked 238th).

Meanwhile, Jay entered their tilt with Southwest on Friday with four consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with five. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Dragons.

Jay's victory bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Southside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-9.

Southside might still be hurting after the 10-2 defeat they got from Jay in their previous matchup back in January. Can Southside avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
