Softball Recap: Cedar Falls Extends Winning Streak to Three

Cedar Falls took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Ankeny Centennial, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Tigers had just enough and edged out the Jaguars 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted since June 4th.

The victory (which was Cedar Falls' third in a row) raised their record to 13-3. As for Ankeny Centennial, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-3.

Looking ahead, Cedar Falls will head out to take on Wahlert at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Golden Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Ankeny Centennial has already played their next contest (against Linn-Mar), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
